21st Amendment Brewery Baby Horse Belgian Quad Ale- 9.5% ABV
purchased at
LeClair’s General Store Fayetteville, NC
Appearance: Dark Amber/Garnet Color with a thin off-white head
Aroma: Bready with sweet candied sugars, notes of dark fruit, dates and figs
Taste: Solid malt bill with flavors of caramel, fig, bubble gum and white grape
Body: full mouth-feel, mildly sticky but a slightly dry alcohol burn on the finish
Overall: At the beginning I felt like it was going to be way too sweet but it leveled out and had an appropriate level alcohol dryness on the finish. I give 21st Amendment a lot of credit for recreating a very balanced Belgian Style Quadruple Ale.
