Conquest Brewing Company Barrel Aged Plum Sour Aged in Red Wine Barrels- 6% ABV
Appearance: Reddish Orange with hues of Salmon & Pink, thing white lacing
Aroma: upfront sour with notes of plum, passionfruit, and fermented grape. a little natural funk
Taste: initially sour off the first sip, bready with hints of tart plum skin, slight acetone notes but not off-putting, like a good kombucha, fresh plum, white grape.
Body: medium body with light carbonation, a lasting sourness but a mild crisp finish
Overall: It’s a good sour. For me a good sour is one that keeps me desiring more and isn’t off-putting with weird urine notes or battery acid acidity. This plum sour captures it. Though I kind of wished for more fruit towards the middle, it carried so interesting layers of flavor toward the lighter side.
