Prairie Artisan Ales Paradise

IMG_0210Prairie Artisan Ales Paradise Imperial Stout Brewed with Coconut and Vanilla- 13% ABV

Purchased at Grapes & Hops III

Appearance: Dark Black with a dark cocoa colored ring around glass, no real head

Aroma: huge cocoa, roasted malts, light coconut flesh with hints of vanilla

Taste: more vanilla on the front end, light coconut meat (don’t think Hawaiian Tropics tanning oil, more like actual coconut flesh), Dark chocolate with a slight chocolate bitterness, little alcohol burn on finish

Body: mouth-coating, sticky with a noticeable dry alcohol finish

Overall: I have never been disappointed by a Prairie Stout. They are big and rich with dynamic complexities of flavor going on. With the ABV and rich flavors I normally limit myself to one Prairie per tasting as to not overwhelm my palate. The Paradise is a fantastic beer and it’s definitely a bit more available then some of the other Prairie Stouts.
