Weyerbacher Brewing Company QUAD Belgian-Style Quadrupel- 11.8% ABV 39 IBU
Purchased at Grapes & Hops III
Appearance: Browninsh amber color with a thin off-white head that quickly faded
Aroma: banana, toffee, with notes of fig or prune.
Taste: slight dark cherry but more on the raisin, fig, prune flavors, Belgian candied sugars but rather subdued subtle finish.
Body: moderate to heavy body with a drier finish
Overall: Even amongst iconic traditional Belgian quads the flavors can vary a slight bit. Weyerbacher does a nice job of representing a very sacred beer style and giving it a unique character without completely butchering it with sickeningly sweet sugary notes. Overall, this is a very good Belgian-style Quad, not quite monastery worthy but definitely worth a few prayers.
